My first Inktober project was simple and spontaneous—India ink on paper, and only three brushes to make a mark. My second installment was over-the-top ambitious, with weeks of research, planning and testing before the meticulous execution. In stark contrast to the monochrome of 2016's project, I planned to work through a full spectrum of colors. In rainbow order. Using plant-based inks. THAT I MADE. I kept the pattern-based/non-representational aspect from the previous year's project, since that's what I do best and with the most joy.
