To my complete surprise, I found out that my artwork is on the cover of the July/August issue of HGTV Magazine! A few years ago I created a series of wall art "postage stamps" with nautical buoys for Minted, and never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed that one day I'd see one of them gracing grocery store checkout lines across the nation :)

DOOMDRAWING

Lately I've been trying to curb my evening doomscrolling habit by drawing on my iPad instead. Doomdrawing, if you will. In order for drawing to work as a replacement for everyone's favorite mindless waste of time, it has to feel nearly as effortless and engaging. For me that means building abstract compositions in bold, sort of weird colors. I would love to paint some of these on large canvases, and at some point I will, but for now I'm just enjoying this nightly ritual. If you feel stuck in a doomscrolling rut, I encourage you to try doomdrawing for yourself!
