Magpie Monthly: Vol. 9

If you are looking for the sweetest 2026 planner, head to your nearest TJ Maxx! My Berries 'N Bows design is in stores now, complete with beautiful gold foil accents, handy tabbed dividers, and six pages of stickers to keep your days on track.
One of my favorite things about working with Moonbow Creative Co. is the tremendous amount of creative freedom I have, and the enthusiasm with which even my silliest ideas are met. How else would we end up with these lil' shrimp cuties wearing hats?
This is just one of the delightful, hot-off-the-press sticker sheets available in the Moonbow shop. Here are a few of my other favorites:
Make It: Washi Swap Cards
Have you seen these FREE washi card templates I created for Moonbow? These are so fun and easy to make for your next washi swap, or as an adorable way to swatch and admire your collection. Even if you're not a washi fantatic, I think they would also make super-cute bookmarks ;)
I tested these out with Moonbow's frosted glitter washi, which has the most beautiful shimmer. And the best part? No glitter whatsoever will come off of this tape, so even if you are a major glitter-phobe like me, you can still enjoy a bit of sparkle.
Templates and instructions are available as part of the Moonbow Creative Academy, where you'll find lots of other how-tos for relaxing sticker and stationery crafts that you can keep for yourself, or share with a friend!
What I’m Reading
Here are two standout reads from October. Connect with me on Goodreads to see the rest.
Moderation
Elaine Castillo, 2025
Smart. Inventive. 50 pages too long.
For a book that should have a flashing neon trigger warning for gnarly descriptions of heinous (albeit fictional) online content of all kinds, it's truly something special. I was all in for the first 75%, until things started to drag a bit. However, I am a very impatient reader with a hair-trigger DNF finger, so take that with a grain of salt.
Heart the Lover
Lily King, 2025
Beautiful. Intimate. Melancholy.
There are literally tears on the cover so I don't know why I was surprised when this book took a turn for the thoroughly heartbreaking, after getting off to a buoyant start. If you are looking for an emotional rollercoaster than ends with a cold plunge for your heart, or just generally like being sad, you will love this book.
