Magpie Monthly: Vol. 11
The Big 4-0
I just turned 40! I’m excited for a brand new decade. Wishing all of my fellow '86 babies a wonderful year as we say goodbye to our 30's and hello to being officially old.
My latest self-produced sticker designs have landed. Come and get 'em! As always, I've put together a wonderfully wacky assortment, featuring convenience store snacks, awesome possums, terrific toast, celebratory shrimp and the sweetest little dust bunnies.
This will be my last sticker release for a while (though of course I will continue to create eight fun new designs for Moonbow every month). I LOVE creating these, but each sheet takes 8-12 hours of time to illustrate and setup for print, and it's getting harder and harder to find a whole extra workweek in my schedule. However, I will have some fun NEW products in the near future, and there will more sticker sheets eventually, just released at a slower pace.
I can't thank you all enough for your support of my little side hobby - it brings me so much joy to share my art with you!
New From Moonbow
Moonbow Creative Co. is a sticker and stationery biz with the best sticker subscription around. I am proud to be their Head Designer, creating many of the sticker sheets that go out to subscribers/into the shop each month. Here are some of my favorite designs from January and February:
NEW PRODUCT ALERT
Check out the CUTEST new release from Moonbow - stickers on a roll! This brand-new product just hit the virtual shelves, and I am so in love 😍. The set includes 540 stickers in a very satisfying rainbow assortment. Artwork by me, design and layout by Steph, Moonbow's founder (and just an overall really cool person).
Each roll has three repeats: one to use, one to share, and one to keep (if you like...of course you can just hoard them all if that's more your speed). Priced under $20, this would make the perfect Easter basket gift, for those of you who like to plan ahead.
What I’m Reading
Here are a few of my standout reads from the past couple of months. Connect with me on Goodreads to see the rest.
A Marriage at Sea
Sophie Elmhirst, 2025
Incredible. Poignant. Skillfully written.
Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction, as with this mind-blowing tale of wreckage and rescue on the high seas, recounting the experience of a married couple adrift on a dinghy in the Pacific ocean for four months. Equal parts fascinating, harrowing, entertaining and tender.
The Song of Achilles
Madeline Miller, 2011
So. Damn. Beautiful.
I thought I had no interest in Greek mythology (or romance, for that matter), but it turns out I just needed someone like Madeline Miller to bring these stories to life in a way that makes them more human and accessible. I re-read this book immediately upon finishing it, and I know I will read it again at some point.
